At the start of class, my group and I checked on our fast plant, and it seemed like it did not grow very much (Figure 1), but we observed another group's fast plant again this week (Figure 2). During the lab section this week, we reviewed our Baby Face Lab, DNA sequencing, acquired and inherited traits, and DNA mutation. Lastly, during our lab, we did a mutation activity, which helped me understand the difference between the different points of mutations (insertion, deletion, and substitution) (Figure 3)....

Week 7 Blog - Elementary Science Methods (Addyson Junge) March 9, 2025           Figure 1                       Figure 2                     Figure 3                      Figure 4                               Figure 5                       Figure 6                       Figure 7 1.   What did you learn this week? This week, we covered a lot of new and existing information, but ultimately, we discussed genetic material and how it is passed down to offspring. In Figures 5, 6, and 7, we did an activity with a partner to depict how genetics from two parents are passed down to a single offspring. I...

Week 6 Blog - Elementary Science Methods (Addyson Junge) March 2, 2025 (Figure 1)                         (Figure 2)                         (Figure 3)                                        (Figure 4) What did you learn this week? After reflecting on this week's lab and lecture content, I learned many new concepts as well as refreshed on familiar past learnings. For starters, we checked our fast plant, and to our surprise, it did not grow very much (Figure 1). Next, we did an activity where we created an ecosystem with our table groups to help us understand biomes and environments better. We also learned about the importance of pollination. During our lab section, we took a bee on a stick and brushed it over the flowers to depict the p...
